Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes (JAMGL) is pleased to recognize the Perrigo Company and the Perrigo Company Charitable Foundation for their gift to the capital campaign to create the JA Free Enterprise Center for students from across the region. Perrigo donated $200,000 to the project to support capital needs and scholarships for area students from Allegan, Kent and Ottawa Counties to visit and learn at the facility. JAMGL has already reached 83% of the $12.95 million project goal, having thus far raised $ 10,802,084. “The partnership we have with Perrigo Company is so important to the students across West Michigan,” said Bill Coderre, President and CEO of Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes. “This generous contribution demonstrates Perrigo’s continued commitment to JA, to our students and to our communities.”

The 35,000 square foot facility will be home to the Tom Fox Family JA BizTown®, the Karl and Susan Hascall JA Finance Park, the Haworth Entrepreneurship Incubator and the JA Inspiration Lobby. It will be the only JA facility in the United States to hold all four experiences under one roof.

Phase 1 of the project was recently completed on the 35,000 square foot center with phase 2 having begun in earnest with sales and build-outs being done for each of the businesses in the Tom Fox Family

JA BizTown® and the Karl and Susan Hascall JA Finance Park. Perrigo will serve as one of the featured storefronts in JA BizTown®. Perrigo’s presence will allow students to learn about running a retail store, more about their self-care products as well as serve as consumers in the shop. “We are so excited to continue our partnership with Junior Achievement by establishing a Perrigo Storefront in JA BizTown, which will help thousands of young people gain the knowledge and experience they need to support their personal success and be active participants in our communities. Perrigo is pleased to establish a scholarship fund to remove barriers for young people to access these life-changing experiences, from communities where Perrigo has facilities. Collectively, we are working with JA and our West Michigan community to advance self-care and help enable families to take better care of themselves. JA is playing an important role in building financial literacy that will impact so many lives and we couldn’t be happier to support these important initiatives,” said, Rich Sorota, Executive Vice President and President, Consumer Self-Care Americas, Perrigo.
